With only one year left until the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation becomes law, the Irish Computer Society is hosting a series of lectures to help organisations prepare. Tomorrow, the series hits Cork and the theme is “What you need to address in the coming year to prepare for GDPR.”
The lecture will focus on four key areas:
- Know your data: How to conduct a Data Audit – because you can’t plan your journey if you don’t know where you are starting from.
- Crisis management: A case study-based walk through on how to respond to a breach or notification from the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
- Subject access requests: What will change under the new regulations, what are the pitfalls and how can you handle them?
- Data processor’s legal obligations: Third party contracts and new data processor responsibilities under GDPR.
The event takes places at The Republic of Work on Cork’s South Mall from 9.30-12pm. Tickets are free to ICS members, €25 for non-members and can be booked here.
